Yes, at one point, Stevens said he wanted to record one album for each of the fifty states in the union, although he later admitted to The Guardian that the idea had really just been a promotional gimmick.

If youve heard any of Stevens songs, its probably Chicago, a feature of the soundtrack for the film Little Miss Sunshine and the lead single from his 2005 album Illinois, which music review site Metacritic called the best-reviewed album of that year.

Call them the expert-level selections from the Stevens discography; if you dont like, say, Jacksonville from Illinois, I wouldnt recommend even trying his other stuff.
